Alrighty then, at the moment, there seems to be a batch of negativity and Tales Of Woe to be had. Right now, on the list of Sharable Tales Of Woe, I’m cranky with work, the Mysterious Bruise Fairy has left me a dodgy looking purple mark on the middle of my forearm, nice and obvious and completely unexplainable and my drawing program will not let me in for 48 hrs over the weekend. This means I’ve not doodled and I’m behind on my last prompt (sorry [livejournal.com profile] heddychaa  – I’ve got a line drawing, but I can’t convert it to something useable until later in the week *crosses fingers hard*)

To make it ALL BETTER, [livejournal.com profile] madder_rose  has come up with a FOOL PROOF PLAN. (I think my caps lock button got stuck when I was over with [livejournal.com profile] tw_gleeclub , oops)

So, yeah, back on track, her plan is this – bake nice things, so the house will fill with the smell of tasty goodness. She’s started it off with her delectable PMS Pie, cure for all ills. It was sampled at my house, and there is little left; yes that could be down to the fact that my family puts locusts to shame when it comes to deserts, but whatevah!

So, then there was talking about apples, the stealing of same, and how to enjoy pilfered fruit – my contribution is below. And, yes, it is about as easy as a baked good can be, my lack of skills in the kitchen area are LEGENDARY through family songs and tales.

PILFERED FRUIT CRUMBLE OF JOY

STUFF THAT’S USEFUL:

1.5 lb raw fruit (apple, plums, whatevah)

3 oz /  85g margarine (or butter, if you want to go all out!)

6 oz /170g  plain flour

3 oz / 85g caster sugar

OVEN STUFF:

400°F or 200°C or gas mark 6 (the internetz is a wonderful place for random facts)

COOKIN’N’STUFF:

Get the fruit ready for stewing, then put it all in an over-proof dish. Rub the fat into the flour until the mix is down to fine crumbs, then you stir in the sugar. Sprinkle the mix on top of the fruit in the dish, then into the oven for between 30 – 40 minutes. If you prefer, you could stew the fruit before putting it into the dish. Once the fruit’s stewed, into the oven proof dish, then into the oven for about 20-30 minutes.

Once you serve it with icecream or cream it’s OM NOM NOM

If you want to play around with the mix, you could add 1 level tsp of cinnamon, mixed spice or ginger to the flour before rubbing the fat in.

So, if you want to join in the fun, dig out your favourite pick me up recipe and post it for all to share XD  And in other, completely unrelated news, Teeny!Pup has decided to cheer me up by learning to get up on the kitchen and sleeping - this prompts a round of "Awwww, so cute, GERDOWN, no I need to be cleaning and it is nearly midnight".  Pets, don't let anyone tell you they don't have a sense of timing!
